Don’t look for the devil in red, with wings.
Nor forked tail, nor choral deamons which sing.
Rather, look for him in common places
In shops and stalls and consumer spaces.
For there shall be no scare, no wild crazy fear
No wailing nor howling nor shedding tear.
Instead there will be a chocolate cake,
Red wine and ice-cream; the devil may take
Innocence, dignity – and enjoys sin
You know Holy Water now fries up your skin?
So you should eat, drink, consume and enjoy
You’ve turned your soul into the devil’s toy.
